Day 1 – Golden Circle

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel and you will head out to the Golden Circle to see Thingvellir National Park parliament site and the two tectonic plates fault line, famous Geysir geothermal hot spring area and Gullfoss waterfall.  From the Gullfoss waterfall you will take a mountain trail up to Langjökull glacier where you can do a 1 hour snow mobile tour on the fourth largest glacier cap in Iceland. Warm overalls, helmets, balaclavas, warm mittens are provided.

Day 2 – South Coast Wonders

The picturesque waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, Reynisfjara black sand beach with it´s curious caves and rock formations and Vík small town.  On the way you will do a private glacier hike on the Sólheimajökull glacier and IF time and possibly the hike to the Black Waterfall in Skaftafell if you have the time and energy left for that.

Day 3 – Glacier Lagoon to Eastfjords

The Glacier Lagoon and the Diamond beach are attraction to numerous visitors every year for the sheer beauty of this immense spectacle of ancient icebergs floating around in the chilly water.  That will be the first stop of your day and then you pass through Höfn on your way to the The Eastern Fjords are a beautiful and remote area and all have their small villages each with it´s charm and history.  Overnight in Egilsstaðir area.

Day 4 –Dettifoss Waterfall

Passing on to the Mývatn area that is a dream for nature lovers you will make short detour to see the Dettifoss waterfall.  Thundering down with a force that is undeniable it will make you feel like very tiny beside it. Hljóðaklettar and Ásbyrgi nature phenomenons ( based on road conditions). The Bubbling mud springs and fumaroles at Námaskarð and Hverarönd are an obvious sign of the immense geothermal activity in the area and their smell is quite the experience for your nose. Mývatn nature baths in the late afternoon. .

Day 5 – The North

Spend the morning to explore the Mývatn area further with the Dimmuborgir empty lava lake phenomenon, Hverfjall massive crater and Skútustaðagígar pseudo craters.  Then head over to charming Akureyri with a stop at the famous Goðafoss waterfall. Then advancing a bit on the ring road at the end of the day to reach Sauðárkrókur village.

Day 6 – Sauðárkrókur to Húsafell

Starting early you will spend most of the morning in the vehicle to get to Hraunfossare and Barnafossar waterfalls.  A quick lunch at Húsafell glacier valley and from there do the 20-30 min drive to the base camp of the Into the Glacier guided tour.  Mounting a massive vehicle that once was a missile truck for Nato you will drive over the glacier cap to meet up with your glacier guide that will take you through the tunnels explaining all about the dynamics in the glacier.

Day 7 – Borgarfjordur Bay

Making our way through the Borgarfjörður bay you will stop at Deildartunguhver hot spring and once over at Reykjanes peninsula you will stop at a couple of well chosen attractions such as the Bridge between two continents and the Reykjanes lighthouse.
