Luxury African Safari: Private Safaris in Kenya, Tanzania and Beyond
There are few travel moments that compare to your first morning on safari: the engine goes quiet, the grass moves, and a lioness walks past close enough to hear her breathe. A luxury African safari combines that raw wilderness with exceptional comfort, expert guiding and complete privacy. At Amazing Global Travel, we design private safaris across East and Southern Africa, built around your dates, your interests and the wildlife you most want to see.
What makes a safari “luxury”?

Luxury on safari is less about marble bathrooms and more about the experience. It means:
- Small, intimate camps and lodges with only a handful of tents or suites, often in private conservancies where vehicle numbers are limited.
- Expert private guides who know the animals, the tracks and the best light for photography.
- Your own safari vehicle, so you can stay with a leopard for an hour or leave early for breakfast, as you prefer.
- Light-aircraft flights between camps, so you spend your time in the wild instead of on long road transfers.
- Thoughtful extras such as bush breakfasts, sundowners on the savanna, walking safaris and night drives.
Kenya: the Maasai Mara and the Great Migration

Kenya is the classic safari destination. In the Maasai Mara, open plains hold lions, cheetahs, elephants and huge herds of wildebeest and zebra. From roughly July to October, the Great Migration arrives from Tanzania, with dramatic river crossings on the Mara River. Private conservancies bordering the reserve offer exclusive game drives, walking safaris and night drives with very few other vehicles.
Beyond the Mara, Samburu is home to rare northern species such as Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe, Amboseli is famous for its elephants beneath Mount Kilimanjaro, and Laikipia offers wild, remote landscapes. Many guests end their journey relaxing on the Indian Ocean coast in Lamu or Diani.
Tanzania: the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Kilimanjaro

Tanzania’s Serengeti is one of the greatest wildlife areas on earth. The Great Migration moves through it for most of the year, and from around January to March the herds gather in the southern plains for the calving season, which attracts lions and cheetahs in large numbers. The Ngorongoro Crater, a vast volcanic caldera, is one of the best places in Africa to see the black rhino.
For the adventurous, a climb of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, can be followed by a relaxing safari or a beach stay in Zanzibar.
Beyond East Africa

- Rwanda and Uganda: an unforgettable hour with a family of mountain gorillas in the misty forests.
- Botswana: the Okavango Delta, explored by mokoro canoe and on foot, with some of Africa’s most exclusive camps.
- South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe: private game reserves, the Cape Winelands and the thundering Victoria Falls.
When is the best time to go on safari?
Safari is a year-round experience, but timing shapes what you will see:
- July to October: dry season in much of East and Southern Africa, with animals gathering around water. This is also the usual season for Mara River crossings.
- January to March: calving season in the southern Serengeti.
- The green seasons: fewer visitors, lush landscapes, newborn animals and excellent birdwatching, often with better rates.
Wildlife movements change from year to year, so we plan around the latest conditions for your travel dates.
